Eric Chan, an engineer by training, is the Senior Vice President of ST Engineering Electronics Ltd. Eric leads the business unit that focused on Smart Building Systems, Integrated Security Management Systems and Homeland Security Solutions. Eric joined ST Engineering Ltd in 1985 and has grown with the organization for past 30 years. During the early years of his career, Building Automation was then an emerging market and he was trained on related products and technologies in UK, Germany and USA. Due to those exposures, he is one of the pioneers in the areas of Intelligent Building Controls. For the past three decades, Eric Chan has led many teams in product development and marketing of solutions to cater to the exacting demands of market. Eric Chan has advocated “innovation as the key competitive edge” and being exemplary has filed for various patents and has two patents titled “ Apparatus for detecting and Counting vehicles “ and “ Wireless control of utility elements using Radio Broadcast Channels and Methods thereof” granted in his name. .

Throughout Eric’s career, he has been very active and working on the various government initiatives in Technology & Market Development and has led the Working Groups that facilitated pre-competitive collaboration amongst players for the development of new products and services for Smart Homes. Eric Chan was also the founding member and also the council member of Asian Institute of Intelligent Building (AIIB) – Singapore Chapter. Eric has served as the Chairman of this Association – a non profit outfit committed to promote public understanding and industry adoption of the principles and technologies of Intelligent Buildings. On the marketing front, Eric has led various consortiums into the Middle East market with the objective of jointly marketing solutions with a Government Linked Companies taking the lead and providing support and guidance to the various Small Medium Enterprises.
